The Power of Our Brand

When our team was looking at establishing the next generation of security services, we took an honest look at the industry itself. We wanted to gain insight as to the how clients view security officers, how the general public interacts with security officers, and how companies deal with their security teams. Through thousands of hours worked, interviewing staff, interacting with clients and reviewing data analytics we determined there are four fundamental principles of security.

  1. Satisfied CLIENTS creates repeat business. Once a client gives NORTH STAR the opportunity to demonstrate its services, they don’t regret it.

  2. Security is a PEOPLE industry. Our biggest assets are our people.

  3. REPUTATION is key to success. A poor reputation is in no one’s best interest.

  4. Security officers need TRAINING. Proper execution requires proper training.

Once we understood the fundamentals we went to work creating our BRAND. This is how we came to create NORTH STAR, a vertically integrated, employee centric, and client driven security solutions provider.

WHat You Should be Asking The Security Company You Hire

When you’re shopping around for a security company, you may feel lost as to what you need. How do you know this company is the right security company for you? How do you know they will do everything you ask them too? How will you track all of their work? There are some questions you need to ask to get a better understanding as to what you need.

Question 1: Are you going to Sub Contract our services out?

If your security company is planning on sub contracting the work, that should be a red flag. This means the company you called is going to go and try and get a cheaper security company, usually with less experience and no credentials to try and fulfill the contract. This puts your organization in jeopardy because if there is an incident and the security officer does not have the proper training or certificates, or the security company doesn’t have the proper insurance or workers comp, you as the client are left liable.

NORTH never sub contracts services to any other security company. We simply don’t trust anyone with our REPUTATION, and we wouldn’t put your services in the hands of another company.

Question 2: Do you have any infractions from California BSIS (Bureau of Security & Investigative Services)?

If you ask the security company if they have any infractions and they don’t provide you with a straight answer, this should be a red flag. Its very difficult to receive infractions from BSIS and when a security company does, its usually for repeated offenses.

NORTH does not hide our ability to provide services and because we don’t wish to get infractions from BSIS, we focus on client care. You can look up any security company in California through this link https://search.dca.ca.gov/

Question 3: How do you track the officers onsite?

If you ask the security company to provide you with the information of the software, they use to track their security officers, can they give that to you? If they have a hard time explaining the software, how it works, what benefits it provides then you should really question this company’s ability to provide services accurately.

NORTH STAR has its own proprietary software scheduling and GPS tracking service. These services are also available to our clients so they may see what the security officers are doing. Our sales team are very well aware of our software and can speak to it.
